In recent days the nation of Iran has experienced a wave of upheaval that has been directed against political corruption and the abuse of governmental power, though it happens that this time around the wave is moving against its own and not against the West. The pulse of the Iranian nation is on a critical beat and the world community is watching with eyes of curiosity and awe. For thirty years there has been a cold atmosphere in the realm of political relations between the Islamic Republic and the United States. The need for change gripped the U.S in this past election year and projected the movement of current American political thought throughout our nation as well as the globe. A new movement is now on a very delicate edge and struggling to survive at this moment in Iran, a nation being torn by the desire to see justice surface in the form of uncorrupted politics. The final implications of these massive demonstrations and marches is still uncertain. The power being generated by these marches does reveal an ancient nation at a crossroads of decision. New generations arise and the thirst for a political arena based on purity of national trust is still an idea worth marching for. The Iranian people have demonstrated that idea in physical form and the world should begin to see Iran as a place not completely shrouded by an unwillingness to react to their governments actions and that they will in fact demand for real change with a collective voice.
